Question by Alice: meditation?
okay, I am trying to connect more with the spiritual world and other things. Meditation is good for this as well as finding inner peace and things like that. Some things I have read told me to meditate for half an hour every day, but every time I try, I end up getting bored long before the half hour is up. I enjoy meditation as it calms me down, but I have a lot of trouble just concentrating on nothing or my breating. Does anyone have any advice for my meditation?
Also, does anyone have any tips on astral projection? I’ve tried but haven’t gotten very far with it. Has anyone achieved it and if so, what did you do?

Meditation shouldn’t have guidelines, nor should it have time limits or anything else…You dont have to clear your mind nor do you have to concentrate on your breathing It is what it is….
If you worry about all the things you have to do to meditate then you will miss all the beautiful things that come from doing it in the first place…
Astral projection is alot harder and more indepth than I can answer here. But yes I have achieved it many times, and you probley do it now without even realizing it.

The way I learned how to meditate was through Vinyasa Yoga. Not only does it strengthen the body, but it also helps increase focus and endurance. It worked for me, so it’s possible it could work for you as well.
I bought DVD’s, based on the Yoga teachings of a guy named Baron Baptiste… he sounds like he’s probably fruitier than a bowl of cherries, but he knows what he’s talking about. I’ll list his site below.

I have about a dozen different Cd’s (instrumental, no vocals) that I’ll put on softly in the background while I am meditating. Try to time your breathing to the music. It is hard at first, but keep up with it. It pays dividends in the long run. You will find yourself better rested, calmer, sharper, and more in control. Good luck!

meditation is different for everyone. if you can’t go a half an hour, then it’s okay. the fact that you are meditating and that you find it relaxing and spiritual is good, but if you really want it to last longer, try some different things each time. you don’t have to do the pose that is normally associated with meditating, just be comfortable while doing this. you can try atmosphere like background music(celtic, or just soundscapes), or try candles. just make this time your time and make it interesting and relaxing.

The whole aim of meditation is,
1. to calm your mind, and
2. to focus the mind on one thing.
If you sit down and close your eyes you will notice that your mind is jumping from one thought to another. Even though you want to concentrate on your breath you will find other thoughts also coming in between.
In learning to meditate you must first learn to calm your mind. You do this by following every thought that comes into you mind. You must be like a Manager of a Hotel who stands at the entrance and observes the customers coming in. Without getting attached to the thoughts try to observe them. You will find that a thought comes in and that it goes nowhere and another thought follows it – try following that too – with same results. This way you will find that your thoughts gradually subside.
Of course do not expect results in one or two days. Practise it for at least 40 minutes every day for at least 2 months you find that you have ‘killed’ your train of thoughts. I have practised for 1 1/2 years but still vagrant thoughts come in. The whole idea is to silence the mind.
Thereafter start concentrating on your breath. Notice the breath coming in and going out. You should not concentrate only on the tip of your nose. Notice the breath coming in and thereafter your lungs getting filled and then gradually exhaling the breath.
